College of Liberal Arts & Sciences

Second Semester

• Register for second semester courses before the first semester ends. Continue completion of core courses; the Graduate College suggests that students take 10 credits.

• Develop formal proposal for thesis/creative component work; submit it to a potential major professor.

• Ask major professor for assistance in selecting other members for your Program of Study (POS) committee. Submit the proper forms for appointment of the committee.

• Hold the first meeting of the POS committee. Present proposal for thesis/creative component, and modify it until the POS committee approves it.

• Submit an official Program of Study (courses) to the committee for consideration, and get it approved. Complete the POS form, get the proper signatures from the committee and submit the form as directed on the form.
